On St. Patrick’s Day 2015 our bailliage gathered at Primavista Restaurant, renowned for classic Italian cuisine and an absolutely breathtaking view of the city. Established in 1989 by Chevalier Pat Gaito, the restaurant quickly became known as one of the most romantic restaurants in the region. Eighteen years ago, the restaurant was sold to current owners Frank and Joan Lenkerd who, together with Chef Chris Prince, have carried on the tradition of meticulously serving northern and southern Italian dishes in an elegant yet non-fussy style.
Each bailliage member brought a bottle of extraordinary wine to be enjoyed with a menu that had an exquisitely prepared veal loin chop as its highlight. Not surprisingly, many of the wines included Italian favorites such as Brunellos, Barolos, and Amarones. As the evening progressed, the sun slowly set giving rise to the dazzling lights of the city right before our eyes. Before leaving this enchanting evening, we all gave out heartfelt thanks to Professionnel du Vin Carmen Parks for her collaboration with the restaurant and Bailli George Elliott for overseeing the event.
