Over The Rhine or OTR has recently become the “Go To” area in Cincinnati! So that’s exactly what we did for our Cincinnati Bailliage Fall Dinner – we decided to Go To KAZE, located in the heart of OTR!
This Japanese GastroPub, owned and operated by Jon Zipperstein and Hideki Harada, combines a contemporary dining room and a beautiful outdoor beer garden. Building on their individual and joint successes in other Cincinnati restaurants, KAZE met and exceeded all of our expectations of great food in a contemporary downtown setting!
Vice Conseiller Gastronomique Barbara Lancor and Chef Harada expertly coordinated the presentation of the four course event from the Maguro Nigiri to the luscious Kobe beef loin strip.
Each course was enhanced with wines exquisitely chosen by Vice Enchanson Mike Monnin and his wine team. Throughout the evening, we were constantly overwhelmed by the attentive, knowledgeable Kaze staff who seamlessly presented each course and wine pairing.
I have no doubt that there will be many members making return visits to this outstanding downtown eatery. At the end of the evening, Bailli George Elliott, Barbara, and Mike received the highest praise from our members for a job well done.
