Promoting Young Culinary Talent (March 31, 2016)

Members of our Cincinnati chapter met with officials from the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State to present them with a check for $6,000. This money will go into the Irwin and Barbara Weinberg Culinary Scholarship Fund to be used for the benefit of students attending the school.

The contribution included 38 individual checks from local chapter members, 1 check from the Chaîne Foundation, 1 check from the Cincinnati chapter of the Société Mondiale du Vin, and 2 checks from the Cincinnati Chaîne chapter.

Bailli George presented the contribution to Cincinnati State Interim President Dr. Monica Posey with Chaîne and MCI officials in attendance. Chambellan Provincial Irwin and Barbara Weinberg, longtime supporters of the MCI and the culinary arts, were present to accept the check for their fund.

This is the eighth year of a close partnership between our local chapter and the MCI in which we have provided annual contributions totaling $39,000 to assist deserving students in the pursuit of the culinary arts.

Chargé de Missions Clint Haynes has worked closely with Chef Rôtisseur and MCI Instructor Alan Neace to form a bridge between these two organizations that has contributed greatly to the culinary scene in Cincinnati.

Graig Smith, Vice Chargé de Presse
