Chers Confrères:
I would like to invite you to our June Société Mondiale du Vin event: our Schrader Cellars Tasting and Dinner on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 6:00 PM at The Transept in OTR. Schrader Cellars is a premier Napa Valley “cult” winery renowned for its opulent, highly concentrated Cabernet Sauvignons. What makes them special is their laser focus on crafting single-vineyard, clone-specific wines—primarily from the iconic Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard. Production is extremely limited (a few thousand cases annually) and the wines are incredibly sought after. Made by legendary winemaker, Thomas Rivers Brown, who during his 20-plus years at Schrader, has delivered more than 27 perfect 100-point scores. The 2023 vintage was the 25th Anniversary of Schrader Cellars. “The timing of this anniversary couldn’t be more fitting, as 2023 blessed us with what will surely become one of Schrader’s most celebrated vintages. Napa Valley experienced its longest growing season in over a decade, with mild, consistent temperatures that allowed for extended hang time and generous yields. These ideal conditions fostered exceptional fruit development, producing wines of unprecedented depth, harmony, and structure. As winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown notes, ‘It should end up being one of the best vintages of Schrader we’ve ever bottled.’”
The wines we’ll be tasting are as follows: Reception – 2023 Schrader Double Diamond Sauvignon Blanc; Tasting: 2023 Schrader Double Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon, 2023 Schrader Wappo Hill Cabernet Sauvignon, 2023 Schrader To Kalon Monastery Block Cabernet Sauvignon, 2023 Schrader TKS Cabernet Sauvignon; Three Course Dinner – 2022 Schrader Double Diamond Proprietary Red, 2023 Schrader Double Diamond Sauvignon Blanc and any wine remaining in glasses from the tasting,
Our speaker will be Brie Guist, Senior Director Enablement ad Education for Schrader.
